Parenting Special Children were delighted to host a special event on the 2nd March to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the charity that was attended by HRH The Countess of Wessex.
The guests included: Parenting Special Children past and present staff team, trustees, children, parent carers, volunteers and supporters including the Reading Borough Mayor, Cllr Rachel Eden and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Ayo Sokale.
"Thank you to HRH The Countess of Wessex for joining us to celebrate our 15th anniversary. It was an honour and privilege to welcome you to meet our families. Our parents and carers appreciated your insight into the challenges and joys that they faced being parents of children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND). I know that everyone appreciated the time, attention and kindness shown to them. I will remember the pure delight on the children’s faces for a long time to come, especially my daughter presenting your gift. Special memories to treasure forever."
"This will be a highlight of the year. It was amazing to see the children overcome their anxieties to talk with HRH The Countess of Wessex. They enjoyed colouring activities, making a mosaic and playing Uno with the Countess. The event was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the fantastic work undertaken by the charity in the last 15 years supporting over 10,000 families, and also to look forward to the next 15 years, made more memorable by a Royal Visit. We are proud and honoured to have had this opportunity. Thank you to the Countess for attending and Reading Borough Council, the Mayoral office and Reading Museum for your support in helping us to create a long lasting memory for Parenting Special Children."
