Parenting Special Children have a growing team of staff, volunteers and sessional practitioners who bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise to the charity.
The majority of our courses and workshops take place during term time which enables PSC to offer job and volunteering opportunities which provide flexibility, especially important as we are a user led charity and have neurodivergent children/young people, children with SEND or early life trauma.
Partnerships and Commissioning Lead (Part-Time)
- 15 hours per week | Term-time only, with some flexible hours in school holidays
- Permanent
- £30,500 FTE
Hybrid working – predominantly remote, with occasional days at Theale office
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Partnerships and Commissioning Lead to join our team.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and turning conversations into meaningful partnerships.
The role will focus on developing relationships with local authorities, NHS organisations, schools, businesses, community organisations and other partners, identifying opportunities for organisations to commission PSC’s training, workshops and specialist services. You will take opportunities from initial enquiry through to proposal and delivery, working closely with PSC practitioners to ensure that commissioned work is well matched to their expertise and delivered smoothly.
The role will also contribute to developing corporate and community partnerships, raising PSC’s profile and identifying new opportunities that support the charity’s long-term sustainability.
What will you be doing?
You will:
- Develop and maintain relationships with new potential partners.
- Identify and develop opportunities for organisations to commission PSC’s training, workshops and specialist services.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, presentations and supporting resources.
- Coordinate commissioned work from enquiry through to delivery.
- Represent PSC at relevant networking events and meetings.
- Identify opportunities for repeat and longer-term commissioned relationships.
- Support partnership, marketing and communications activity where appropriate.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- An excellent relationship builder with strong communication skills.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage their own workload.
- Confident identifying and developing new opportunities.
- Able to build positive relationships with a range of organisations and professionals.
- Comfortable preparing proposals, quotations and presentations.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Experienced in partnerships, commissioning and/or income generation.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and Canva, or willing to learn.
- Interested in and/or knowledgeable about neurodiversity and/or early life trauma.
Experience of working in a charity or community setting would be desirable.

Treasurer of the Board of Trustees
Parenting Special Children are looking for an experienced finance and reliable Trustee Treasurer to join our Board.
If you have experience in finance, bookkeeping or accounting and would like to use your skills to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a voluntary role with flexible commitment and a big impact.
The role would require an understanding of the challenges and joys of families of neurodivergent and/or special educational needs and disabilities children and young people.
