Overview
For birth fathers & male carers (adoptive, foster and kinship families) of children who have experienced trauma and/or have special needs.
The aims of the group are to provide a safe, accepting & supportive environment to share personal experiences & explore the unique joys & challenges faced by Dads & Male Carers of children with additional needs. To share helpful information & advice about networks & resources provided for Dads & Male Carers.
We are very grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund funding this event. It will be facilitated by specialist parenting practitioner Peter Burton.

Peter Burton
Parenting Practitioner and Trainer
Peter is a multifaceted professional with a diverse background which equips him to address a wide range of needs and challenges effectively.
Within the Trauma & Attachment Service, Peter is actively involved in delivering workshops, where he shares his expertise and helps educate others on crucial topics. He also facilitates the ‘Dads & Male Carers Support Group’, offering dedicated support and a sense of community for male caregivers. He is a qualified teacher, trained mediator, counsellor and NLP practitioner with experience as a foster carer.
Attending details
The group meets face-to-face on a monthly basis. Parking is available at the venue and in the surrounding streets.
