Overview
Parenting Special Children has three Community Support Groups which provide a safe and supportive space for sharing experiences and gaining support with the unique challenges faced by families of children with additional needs.
Each session will include an hours talk about being a parent of a child with additional needs. The remainder of the session will be for discussion of the topic and social support time.
Refreshments provided. Children welcome under parent supervision.

Facilitators
Charlie Taylor
Helpline Manager & Neurodivergent CYP Support Practitioner
Charlie provides information and support to parents/carers and professionals through our Helpline. She coordinates and facilitates our monthly face-to-face community support groups for parents/carers of children with special needs. She works with our Children and Young People groups, and supports practitioners on Autism and ADHD workshops. Charlie has personal and professional experience of neurodiversity, and Developmental Trauma and Safeguarding training.
Denise Challis
Parenting Practitioner
Denise has many years experience of working within schools with children and families, many of whom have lived experience of neurodiversity and/or special needs and disabilities. She is also an accredited mindfulness and compassion teacher (CPCAB).
