Overview

The Annual General Meeting is a legal requirement so some of the event will be formal; signing in trustees and a financial overview, but it is also a time to celebrate the services that the charity has provided.

Dr Ruth Pearse

CEO and Founder

Ruth has over 18 years of experience as a CEO in the charitable sector. She is deeply passionate about supporting parents and carers at all stages of their children’s lives, recognizing the critical importance of providing holistic support throughout their journey. Ruth has developed a reputation for her ability to foster and maintain strong partnerships within the charity sector. She understands the value of collaboration and has successfully built networks that enhance the support available to families and individuals.

On a personal level, Ruth is a parent of neurodivergent adults, which gives her understanding of the challenges and rewards that come with raising children with unique needs. This personal experience fuels her dedication to her work and her empathy for the families she serves. Overall, Ruth’s extensive experience, professional training, and personal insights make her a highly effective and compassionate leader in the charitable sector, particularly in supporting parents, carers, and neurodiverse individuals.

Ellie King

Chair of Trustees

Ellie works as a registered childminder and is a long-standing Trustee who was part of the group which established Parenting Special Children's Diagnosis Support Service. Her family experience with Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Sleep difficulties, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) gives her a deep understanding of these conditions. This first hand knowledge allows her to offer compassionate and informed care, while also contributing valuable perspectives to our services.
